Neurodivergence

Many neurodivergent people grow up learning that the way they think, feel, or respond to the world is “too much,” “not enough,” or somehow wrong.

Over time, this can lead to masking, self-doubt, and a constant effort to fit into systems that were not designed with neurodivergent minds in mind.

You may find yourself questioning your reactions, pushing past your limits, or feeling exhausted without fully understanding why.

Neurodivergent-affirming counselling begins from a different place: the assumption that your nervous system, communication style, and way of making sense of the world are not problems to be fixed.

Rather than asking how you can adapt to unrealistic expectations, we explore how your environment, relationships, and past experiences have shaped your current difficulties.

In our sessions, we work to understand your unique neurotype, recognise your strengths, and make sense of challenges such as sensory overload, emotional intensity, burnout, or relational strain without pathologising them.

Together, we focus on reducing shame, increasing self-trust, and finding ways of living that support your wellbeing rather than deplete it.

You’ll learn to listen more closely to your needs, set boundaries that feel sustainable, and relate to yourself with greater clarity and respect.

Neurodivergent-affirming counselling is not about changing who you are.

It’s about creating space for you to be more fully yourself, with understanding, self-compassion, and self-acceptance.
